Proximity Concerns:Teens often attend the same schools as their abusers. They may be in the same classes or clubs, ride the same bus, or participate in the same activities.
Protection Order Restrictions:Teens may not be eligible for protection orders based on their age or the age of their abuser.
Lack of Experience:Teens generally have less relationship and life experience. They may lack experience in identifying healthy and unhealthy relationships.
Most parents want to help their child be safe and TDV can make safety a major concern for teens and their families.
